Is Beyoncé's music about to become a key issue in the 2016 presidential election? Ever since potential GOP candidate Mike Huckabee called her "mental poison" in his latest book, her name continues to pop up in political discussions. Now a Bloomberg poll has revealed a plurality of Iowa Republicans agree with Huckabee's assessment.

When asked if they thought Huckabee was mostly right or went too far, 40 percent of Republicans likely to attend the Iowa caucus said he was mostly right, while 38 percent he went too far, and 22 percent said they weren't sure. Meanwhile Democrats were much more supportive of Queen Bey, with 81 percent saying Huckabee went too far, 6 percent saying he was mostly right, and 13 percent who weren't sure.

Both parties, however, agreed that Huckabee went too far in criticizing the Obamas for letting their daughters listen to Beyoncé. Sixty-one percent of Republicans said he went too far, 23 percent said he was mostly right, and 16 percent weren't sure. On the left 95 percent said Huckabee went too far, three percent said they weren't sure, and only two percent said he was mostly right.

If this partisanship over Beyoncé continues at least we can count on Jon Stewart to step up and point out the absurdity of it all.
