Trinidad Jame$ seemed to have had a rough 2014: he announced in August that he'd been dropped from Def Jam, saying on Twitter, "I should tell yall. I got dropped by the Label. My Album is now free. If u hear ur beat or verse on it. I hope u want dap cuz i got no money." But it's onwards and upwards in 2015, and he's started the year off with a new five-track EP, called The WAKE Up EP. It's safe to say it's a different vibe than what fans of "All Gold Everything" may have expected: the first track, "Lost In My Dreams," is a haunting instrumental with no vocals at all. On "Get Dressed," Jame$ gets vulnerable, admitting "Sometimes I wish I never started rapping." The crazy thing is, it might be his best release to date. Wake up and get into it.
