It's been a minute—a few months, actually—since CyHi The Prynce has dropped something. Coming off the success of the Black Histori Project, CyHi returns to the mic tonight thru "Credit 'I' Deserve." Back in March, Kanye told CyHi to rap like god, and the G.O.O.D. Music man might've taken Ye's word literally. "Nobody's as sick as him, and I'm speaking in third person," he raps. That's how CyHi The God rolls.
Over a beat that carries a marching drum and a cooing Kanye-esque auto-tunsey sample, CyHi demands respect—hence the title. Perhaps still feeling like an underappreciated act—somehow still slept on despite being a G.O.O.D. signee—CyHi hits out by being his aggressive and emphatic best. His rhymes are sharp, and his flow commands your attention.
"Just trying to give a vivid depiction of how n***** was living/Would you rather have me rapping about sticking dick in a vixen?"
