There's pretty much no information out there on Texas' Light Wheel so let's talk about the music. Comparisons have already been drawn between Light Wheel's opening gambit, "The Keeper", and people like SOHN and James Blake, but that feels a little unsubstantial.
For one, Light Wheel's use of sampling, particularly from old films, is something the genre (whatever that may be) hasn't really felt before. The second point to be made is that Light Wheel's compositions have so much more going on. If any comparison can be made-and it really doesn't feel as though it should-then the obvious choice would be Radiohead with the soaring falsetto vocals and cataclysmic instrumentals.
Take a listen to "The Keeper" below and pray he releases something else soon.
