Fyfe reimagines a Kanye classic as a synth-pop epic.

"Through The Wire" was one of the tracks that launched Kanye West into ubiquity following a near-fatal car accident, and its gospel leanings and appreciation for life are presumably what appealed to London-based multi-instrumentalist Fyfe when he decided to cover the track. Fyfe, real name Paul Dixon, places his focus on the pitched-up refrain of the original, adding his own soulful interpretation atop the original sample.

Though this version has a soulful synth-pop slant, Fyfe has elected to include a few scant samples of classic hip-hop sounds and even some snippets of Kanye's vocals from the original, making it more of an extension of the original than simply a cover version. Take a listen to Fyfe's version of "Through The Wire" below. His new single, "Holding On", is out now and Control, the album, will be released on March 9 through Believe Recordings.
