Virginia-via-Colombia singer Kali Uchis finally releases audio for "Know What I Want" today, after dropping the video last month. Produced by Bunx, the track is an extended version of the one in the video that's been re-mixed and mastered. "Know What I Want" is resilient, and proves that Kali Uchis is really not the one to play with.
"My music is auto-biographical and this is something I was going through at the time. At the end of the day, people only have as much control over you as you allow them to have, and I wanted to really exemplify that with this song," Uchis said over e-mail. "I wanted to express that I'm not confused; I am an evolving force moving in one determined direction, and whether or not you're going to move forward with me is up to you, but I'm not slowing myself down for anyone."
"Know What I Want" is the lead single off of Kali's forthcoming EP, Por Vida, a project that includes production from Tyler, The Creator and others.
