Stream "Superego", VENUS X & Fatima Al Qadiri's Score For Hood By Air's SS15 Presentation

40 minutes of "suveillance sorcery" and "medieval shade."

Fatima Al Qadiri.

VENUS X, the founder of GHE20 GOTH1K, and Future Brown’s Fatima Al Qadiri have "destroyed their egos" to deliver this beautiful yet brutal score for Hood By Air's SS15 presentation. The 40-minute soundtrack is a dark, industrial soundscape rooted in the late '70s experimentations of Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, albeit updated with some grimey epithets peppering the mix. At times, it's cold and minimal. But then, around the 13-minute mark, it becomes almost danceable when a driving beat and some mechanical claps are introduced. Despite all of that, the tone maintained throughout is a brutal and unforgiving one that offers the listener no respite.

The SoundCloud description invites you to "See if you can catch any of their references: Paris is burning, evil spirit cunt, spectacle dread, surveillance sorcery, abandoned skyscraper, concrete skincrawl, office antechambers, and medieval shade."

So, without further ado...
