It's not often anything good comes out of Tumblr, nor is it that often that Frank Ocean releases new music (it's been some time since Channel Orange). So, for Black Friday, a pig has flown high in the sky, as Ocean drops his new track "Memrise" on his own Tumblr, and it has been dutifully pounced upon by the internet.
"Memrise" is a little different to what we're used to from Mr. Ocean. Sure, his inimitable vocals are right at the forefront, but it's backed up by some half-rapped spoken word verses and some inventive production flourishes to take things beyond what we might expect. And at just under two minutes, it's short and sweet but then when did quality over quantity ever harm anyone?
