Too $hort is planning on retiring, for real this time. Although he won't be kissing the rap game goodbye for good (he'll still do things like guest verses), Short is planning on releasing his final album early next year. But before he can do that, the Oakland legend has an EP called 19,999 dropping on November 4 (he also dropped the video for the single "19,999" this week).
With his retirement looming, we spent a day with $hort Dawg (and his entourage of several fine ladies) in Los Angeles chilling on Fairfax and hitting stores like Pink Dolphin and KAYO. We talked about growing old in the rap game, why it's hard for rappers to last in the business, and how international rappers might be the next wave. Short was also joined by his homie and professional skateboarder Stevie Williams to talk about how the cultures of skateboarding, hip-hop, hipsters and others are all merging and mixing. Listen to some wise words about the game from a true OG.
