Last week, we were impressed by Rock The Vote's #TURNOUTFORWHAT campaign for young voters. It's not often that a mainstream outlet does something good with a song that's been so viral. That's not to say that there haven't been parodies of DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What," but it didn't grow to "Harlem Shake" meme status at all. That said, this platinum-selling single will be one of the more impactful tracks of 2014 (even though it technically dropped towards the end of 2013), and because of that, we ended up with a number of different covers and parodies of this tune. Let's run through the best ones.

Kittens For What

Kittens can make any song hotter, even if they're just moving their heads in time to the beat.

UFC For What

Not Available Interstitial

If they'd tried to sync the video with the track more, that'd make more sense. This is nothing more than a highlight reel, to be fair. Still, banging EDM tracks can make most any video footage worth watching.

Spongebob For What

Not Available Interstitial

This clip would've received a higher rating if they'd taken time to put a slicker edit on it. The Plankton bit at the beginning was a great touch. We see what you're doing there. Spongebob knows how to turn up.

Keenan Cahill For What

Not Available Interstitial

Keenan Cahill's brightened a number of lives with his videos for a number of years. His rendition of "Turn Down For What" finds him rocking some ill shades and a fitted one moment, going ham the next. He also wastes a number of tissues (we figure that was him making it rain?), so there's that. This is probably how a number of us jammed out when we first heard this track while sitting at our computers.

Lyrics on the Street For What

Not Available Interstitial

Going up to random New Yorkers isn't a new thing at all, but hitting them with the "lyrics" of any EDM song might be the easiest way to confuse them. Telling people who are asking for directions to "just turn down for what" is kind of funny, though.

Boat Crash For What

Not Available Interstitial

That boat crash video was already super viral, and has been flipped (no pun intended) a number of different ways, it just made sense for "Turn Down For What" to be added to the mix.

Minecraft For What

Not Available Interstitial

The Minecraft community loves making parody videos; this clip actually finds the gamers attempting to recreate the insane "Turn Down For What" video, although with the limited mobility of the characters, it's hard to properly mimic their insane dance moves. A for effort.

As a bonus, it looks like someone was able to cover "Turn Down For What" using Note Blocks. Pretty damn time consuming.

Frozen For What

Not Available Interstitial

Is "Turn Down For What" the Frozen of EDM tracks? It's possible. Double points for getting Elsa to lip-sync the hook, although we're not sure why she's doing the macarena at one point.

Steve Austin For What

Not Available Interstitial

One of the biggest (and arguably the best) parts of Steve Austin's metamorphosis as a WWE character was the addition of the "WHAT!?" phrase during his promo interviews. The chant, meant to fluster his adversaries during their own interviews, was so huge that to this day the WWE Universe will scream "WHAT?!" during the promos of certain performers, hoping to trip them up. Add in a bunch of clips of Austin's infamous Stone Cold Stunner and you have a dope parody video.

Old Man For What

Not Available Interstitial

The original video of this older gentleman getting turnt up by literally throwing his crutches is already the coolest shit ever. He commands his own circle, without the need for a dance partner. He's so in his zone, it's what we truly aspire to be when we get older. Of course he isn't REALLY dancing to "Turn Down For What," but what if he was?
