Sankeys Will Open New Club In Brooklyn This Halloween

It's round two in NYC for the British clubbing institute.

Brooklyn, get ready: Sankeys—the world-famous raver's haven—is coming to town! The British clubbing empire has spent many successful years outside its hometown of Manchester—namely in Ibiza, where it is now considered a nightlife staple. (There's also a monthly pop-up experience at the Studio 338 venue in London). Of course, the next big move had to be the States, which they did in Manhattan last year. But conquering American clubland wasn't as easy as they thought and, subsequently, had to shut up shop at the top of 2014.

"As franchisors, we were inexperienced and [naive] in our approach to the difficulties we encountered," explains owner, David Vincent. "We always felt the area and aesthetics of the venue were not quite right for us, but we went with it."

This Halloween (October 31), Sankeys will launch in the States one more time with a hope of winning over New York City party-goers. Vincent is ready for round two: "Now, for the first time, [we're] taking direct control of all aspects of the venue in Brooklyn, [and] leaving nothing to chance! Sankeys is a basement-style club and needs an intimate low ceiling venue to create our magic. Our new venue in Brooklyn is sure to create this."

The 12-hour Tribal Sessions launch party will feature Greg Vickers, Josef K, Jkriv and others.
