Music might be Big Sean's forte, but he also has a passion for fashion. In the newest installment of the Coors Light Axis series, we step out of the studio to chat with the big man about his personal sense of style, and his future plans as a designer.
Big Sean initially got his eye for style from the same place he got his love of rap: his older brothers. As he puts it, they were both “super fresh in their own ways.” Whether it was mimicking his one brother’s love of Hilfiger and Polo or his other’s penchant for preppy button-downs, the seeds of Big Sean’s relationship with style were being sewn way back in the day in Detroit.
But now he’s his own man with a style all his own, and he is all too aware that others are paying close attention to it. And while he doesn’t think he’s the most influential rapper when it comes to style (he credits Kanye with that), Big Sean does take his role as a burgeoning fashion icon seriously. “It all comes from being original,” he says, “and I think people appreciate that originality.”
