After a few months of noticeable inactivity, south London rapper DVS popped up online last night with a link to his new hood video for "Don't Dry", a track taken from this year's London Boy American Dreaming project. DVS, perhaps best known for his flashy style and musings of hood fame, can also switch it up from time to time, invoking a social conscience similar to that of one of his clear influences, Tupac Shakur. It’s this willingness to provide fans with different facets of his personality and style that’s seen him being regarded as one of the UK's premier rappers. "Don't Cry" is a heartfelt tale of young love gone wrong, eventually descending into abuse. DVS sits alongside Fifi as the two kick back and rhyme: "Little girl don’t cry, every little things gonna be alright/It's dark now, tomorrow’s gonna be so bright/Soon you’ll have no worries, you can sleep all night."
