Grandtheft is making the most of his 2014. Along with touring arduously throughout the year, the Mad Decent representative has been dropping jewels that fans can't get enough of on SoundCloud and in his DJ sets. "Mobbin," one of his collaborations with Hedspin, is even getting love in a Sprint commercial. And you can always expect the celebrated Toronto producer/DJ to come correct with a dope remix or edit.

Today, Complex premieres Grandtheft's edit of ScHoolboy Q's groovy single, "Studio." The original beat from Swiff D is amplified with a bass-heavy backdrop that can only be described as stadium status. Grandtheft shared with Complex the inspiration behind choosing ScHoolboy's record for the edit treatment. "My studio is on the east side of downtown Toronto and I live closer to the west side. For some reason, every time I would leave a long studio session and get in my car to drive home, 'Studio' would be on satellite radio. So many times in a row, it was uncanny," he says.

"I wasn't playing it in my sets but it grew on me and I needed a version that would go with my tunes 'Flying,' 'Heavy Hitterz,' 'My House,' and my Sub Focus remix...Dark and vibey club music. I played ['Studio'] for the whole Australia/New Zealand tour, put it in my Triple J exclusive mix...Now lots of DJ friends and fans have asked for it. As I am finishing some new originals, I am happy to release this one!"

You can catch Grandtheft at the Mad Decent Block Party in Brooklyn at MCU Park this Saturday. Other acts to perform include Diplo, Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis, DJ Snake, and more.
