HAIM - "If I Could Change Your Mind (Cerrone Funk Mix)"

With all of the hubbub surrounding Giorgio Moroder's miraculous return to being possibly the most significant creative personality in dance music, it was only a matter of time before fellow living top producers from Moroder's previous era of excellence re-appeared on the scene. Thus, hearing that legendary French drummer-turned-producer Cerrone has remixed superstar rock band HAIM's single "If I Could Change Your Mind" makes all the sense in the world.

With over 30 million records sold worldwide - though possibly lesser known to the mainstream in the current generation than Moroder's Italo productions - there is a clear lineage from Cerrone's sexy and funky French disco tracks to Daft Punk's early era of pop-dance dominance. Songs like "Supernature" and "Love in C Minor" were staples of disco's mid-'70s dominance and are still regarded as important benchmarks of excellence.

Having already released a Moroder remix for "Forever" back in December (with an MK rework of "If I Could Change Your Mind" from March), HAIM now tapping Cerrone is not just logical, but it also produces (as should be expected) a total re-working of the track into a funkdafied and classic-feeling four-on-the-floor winner.
