Boaz is making up his own rules in the music video for "How We Law," where the Pittsburgh rapper travels to Kingston, Jamaica and links up with celebrated reggae artist Junior Reid. There they spend time with the locals, soaking up the environment and riding motorcycles through the streets.
At one point Boaz and Reid get stopped by the police, but after a quick dap they go on their merry way. This moment in the Winston Mayhew-directed video somewhat symbolizes the theme behind the record, which Boaz says is about real recognizing real. "'How We Law' is an expression of an individual's sense of freedom and how one governs themselves," Boaz tells Revolt. "It's an expression of having that feeling that the way you're doing is the way it works for you! It closes that international gap of real recognizing real, and everybody who's self made embracing that they did it in their own way."
"How We Law" will be included on Boaz' upcoming debut album, which is due out this summer on Rostrum Records.
