Derek King is a new R&B singer from Oakland, who is signed to Lyor Cohen's emerging 300 Entertainment label. For his first single, "Jump," the 18-year-old King enlists the aid of fellow Bay Area native Sage The Gemini and Houston's Kirko Bangz. With Sage's stock rising thanks to the success of "Gas Pedal" and "Red Nose," he is the perfect choice to drop the last verse. Meanwhile, Kirko Bangz's Auto-Tune vocals shift into a double-time flow for the second verse. Despite his age, King's vocals sound mature and confident. More music from the youngster should be coming soon.
