Drake's been making the rounds to promote his new album, Nothing Was The Same, which is out today, and his latest stop was Hot 97. Today he paid Angie Martinez a visit to discuss, among other things, YOLO polos. In part two, he shared what he's been listening to lately (Chicago rappers Lil Reese and Lil Herb, as well as A$AP Ferg), clear the air about his relationship with the rest of YMCMB, discuss competition on Kendrick Lamar's "Control" and talk about working with Jay Z.

On YMCMB, he said: "I've never been the guy that was just hanging around for the sake of hanging around. I think it's just becoming more evident now how much I'm not around because of how busy I've gotten."

On rap battles and Kendrick specifically:

None

On his relationship with Jay Z: "[It's] one of the strongest, if not the strongest [of with any rapper] ... He's just like an incredible mentor to me."

Martinez also asked whether Drake feels like he's on Kanye West and Jay Z's level, and he responded respectfully, noting that "I'll forever be looking up at those guys." But that doesn't mean he's not willing to entertain some comparisons between NWTS and Yeezus or Magna Carta Holy Grail. "I do have the best album of the year, I will say that," he shared.

In a third segment, he also shared thoughts on being himself, getting acting tips from Will Smith, wearing his Jaden Smith shirt and his thoughts on having a real relationship with someone. "I'm ready to start building," Drake explained.

Among the candidates floated by Martinez were Kerry Washington (Drake: "she's married"), Halle Berry (Drake: "she would be here turnt to the max [promoting the album]"), Teyana Taylor (Drake: "childhood acquaintances") and former flame Serena Williams (Drake: "I'll always have a special place for her in my heart"). "It's hard to come up with new people because he already dated everybody," Martinez said, to which Drake predictably responded by hitting on Martinez herself and having to backtrack.
