Armin van Buuren's Space Travel Playlist

Earlier this week, Armin van Buuren announced that he will be one of the first 100 "Founder Astronauts" to take a commercial flight into space, via the Space Expedition Corporation. While the tickets for this expedition run around $100,000, SXC are such big fans of Armin's that they waved the fees. Being in a constant State of Trance has its perks.

Word is that there is some kind of special training that the Founders will go through, including courses on G-forces and weightlessness, but we're wondering if he's mentally preparing. We figured the easiest way for Armin to wrap his head around the joy and pain of space travel would be through the universal language of music. DAD cooked up a special playlist of space-themed tracks that can be applied to a wide range of situations, from glancing out into the cosmos to fighting space aliens. You know, you gotta be prepared.

How much pre-liftoff training is Armin doing? We've seen video of astronauts preparing, and that's no shit to shrug off. Get prepped, Armin!

Nervous about hitting space? This tune could calm you... just a bit, anyways.

Armin's mentality better be that of a space conqueror, or at least a brazen cowpoke on his way to experience awesomeness.

This has to be the liftoff tune. Commanders speaking to the space station, anticipation and nervousness producing dubplate-sized knots in his stomach. Space travel is no small feat, Armin. Get those nerves trained.

How ill would it be if Armin found another race, though?!

Do they let people who purchased space trips out to walk around? We have a feeling this might be the soundtrack for some Apollo 18-ish trek Armin might take.

Should Armin take a walkabout in space, this tune might be a bit more calming. Perfect intergalactic discovery tune...

...although, if there is an issue, we hope there are big red buttons that allow the Founders to alert the authorities.

Does Armin do drugs? We're assuming he doesn't, but if he does, he better be able to handle his shit when those G-forces get real.

DAD will assume they aren't planning on hitting some random planet, but if they do, Armin needs to be ready for anything/everything. You don't want to be caught out there with some space goblins, Armin, or you'll be in a state of traction.

If Armin isn't careful, those intriguing space creatures out there might bring him aboard and rough up his ride.

Some forms of dance music do sound out-of-this-world, so we wonder if Armin could document what happens when you play extra terrestrials proper Chicago footwork...
