For Life+Times' latest episode of their web series Decoded, producer 9th Wonder revisits working on Jay-Z's The Black Album cut "Threat." He starts by telling the story behind coming to New York to play beats for Hov at Baseline Studios, and explains how he was given R. Kelly's "A Woman's Threat" to chop up by Jigga himself.

Then, 9th walks us through how he chopped up the sample, added a boom bap drum pattern to it, and ultimately, how Jay-Z ended up getting in the booth to record over it and shout 9th out in his lyrics. Dope story.

Watch above.
