Just 21, Mac Miller has already made hip-hop history a few times over. His 2011 release Blue Slide Park became the first independent debut to hit No. 1 on the Billboard albums chart since Tha Dogg Pound did it 16 years ago. That career milestone made him the most successful white rapper since Eminem, as well as a contender for hip-hop's most hated. (He's definitely the first MC to get sued for using another rapper's beat on a free mixtape.) But you know what Biggie said—"Mo Money Mo Problems." Before 2012 came to a close Mac overcame every obstacle in his path. He settled Lord Finesse's $10 million claim, kicked a serious lean habit, and put all the critical hate behind him just in time to win Complex's first-ever Man of Next Year competition. Mac's powerful social media game helped him outpace a distinguished group of industry innovators and forward thinkers and put him right back at the No. 1 spot.

To celebrate this impressive feat, Complex collaborated with Mac on a week filled with exclusive features, anchored by the cinematic cover you see above, featuring his grand prize: a luxurious, one-of-a-kind, eco-friendly Fisker Karma hybrid sedan. (He also got one of five limited edition bomber jackets designed by Marc Ecko.) After wrapping up a shoot in L.A. with photographer David Black, Mac invited assistant editor Insanul Ahmed to his new L.A. abode where he's working on his highly anticipated sophomore album, Watching Movies With the Sound Off. But you don't have to watch our latest digital cover with the sound off. Plug in those headphones for a fully Macadelic experience—and make sure you turn it up Loud.
