Next Tuesday (July 24) marks the release of two highly anticipated albums in the indie rock(ish) genresphere. First, you have the return of Passion Pit, whose Gossamer is their first record since 2009's huge Manners. The album also represents a step forward for the Cambridge, Mass.-based act as they dip into other sounds, most notably R&B on single "Constant Conversation."
In addition to Gossamer, July 24 sees the release of Purity Ring's Shrines, which serves as the dreamy/fuzzy electronic duo's full-length debut. Fans of ethereal, Auto-Tune'd vocals and crisp, bass-heavy production take heed: Purity Ring's got something special on their hands here with Shrines.
