Over the past couple of years, we've known that Adam Yauch has been battling with cancer. He went through surgery and radiation to treat a cancerous lymph node and parotid gland, and it seemed like he was on his way to recovery, but today we have learned the sad news that he passed away at 47 years old.
Yauch, also known as MCA, was a founding member of the legendary Beastie Boys. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Read the full statement on the Beastie Boys' official website.
