M.I.A. and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange are working together to produce original music for his upcoming television show, The World Tomorrow. The first episode is expected to air on April 17 on the English-language Russian station RT. It will be available to watch online.
The show will be based on Assange’s interviews he has conducted over the past two months during his house arrest. Twelve episodes have already been filmed in his countryside home in England. According to a recent press release, the interviews will touch on "the most interesting and controversial people alive in the world today," including "politicians, revolutionaries, intellectuals, artists and visionaries" to present a "revolutionary spirit."
M.I.A. seems to be excited about it, posting this on Twitter earlier today.
