Story of The Week: Hot 97's mister cee WAs arrested for public lewdness
After rumors began swirling late Sunday night, a leaked police report confirmed on Tuesday that legendary New York DJ Mister Cee had been accompanied by a male prostitute when he was arrested last week for public lewdness and indecent exposure. The story began an inner dialogue about homophobia in hip-hop. While many took to the Internet to promote hate speech, some have also shown their respect by publicly supporting Cee—most notably 50 Cent and Funkmaster Flex. Mister Cee has yet to make a public statement regarding his arrest.
Song of The Week: wale f/ rick ross & Jadakiss "600 Benz"
This week, Rick Rosswarned us about what was to come from his Maybach Music Group and and he didn't disappoint. Ross has dropped a couple cuts from the upcoming Maybach Music Group compilation album, Self Made Vol. 1, but this one is our favorite so far as Wale and Ross—with a little help from Jadakiss—spit some vicious bars about their Benzes. Mercedes needs to cut Rozay a check already.

On Tuesday, the holy grail of hip-hop homophobia finally surfaced on Youtube: A clip of Lil Wayne planting a wet one on Birdman during an episode of Rap City (right around the 1:09 mark). For most artists this would be career self-ether, but in Wayne's case it's just something we're pretty sure he wishes would just go away. Our only question is, why did Birdman deem Weezy’s pound/one-armed-bro-hug insufficient?
Win of The Week / Fail of The Week
On Wednesday, the Library of Congress paid huge respects to legendary hip-hop group De La Soul by adding their 1989 classic 3 Feet High And Rising into the National Recording Registry. On the flipside, Game went all Dennis Rodman on us and dyed his fro-hawk red before shooting the video for his Lil Wayne-assisted single "Red Nation." The fails continued to pile on to a week in which the repo man ran up and took away his Corvette.

Number of The Week: How many categories did the grammys cut?
On Wednesday, the Recording Academy announced that they would be continuing the "evolution" of the Grammys by cutting 31 categories. Next year’s ceremony will only award 78 Grammys, down from this year's 109. Most notably for hip-hop, there will no longer be a distinction between solo rap artists and rap groups.
