DJ Premier announced on his radio show, "Live from HQ," that DJ Kool Herc, one of the originators of hip-hop music, has been hospitalized. Preemo also said Herc has no health insurance. Although according to Chuck Creekmur of AllHipHop, he's been released from the hospital, DJ Tony Touch says Herc will still need surgery. According to both Premier and Creekmur, Herc is asking fans to please donate money to help him out. Tony Touch tweeted that he'll be playing Sutra in NYC on Tuesday to help collect money for him.
