WHY IT'S WORTH THE DL: After the huge success of Wiz Khalifa's Kush & Orange Juice mixtape this spring, Pittsburgh hip-hop finally has the world's attention. Next up from Wiz's indie label Rostrum Records is 18-year-old Mac Miller, whose video for the Lord Finesse flip "Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza" (from this mixtape) was recently featured on Complex. After dropping a few mixtapes, his new joint, K.I.D.S. (a reference to the classic Larry Clark movie) is set to take his buzz to the next level. As a recent high school grad, Mac's music focuses on carefree fun—smoking trees, skipping class, and rocking fresh kicks. In other words, the perfect summertime soundtrack.
