The robot had about enough.

One of the Knightscope K5 security robots used to monitor the shopping and office complex at Georgetown Waterfront, which sits along the Washington Harbour in D.C., was spotted on Monday lying in a public fountain. After spending the weekend presumingly relaxing and recharging its batteries after another hard work week, it appears the poor robot had a bad case of the Mondays, and just could not take its security job anymore.

People completely understood where the security robot was coming from.

The sight of the Knightscope K5 lying on its side in the fountain also led some people to deliver a less morbid take on the uncommon visual.

A mishap, huh? We have known for a while that robots have a mind of their own and you cannot tell us otherwise. It knew exactly what it was doing. A protest of sorts, perhaps.
