While everyone is still trying to figure out what exactly led up to U.S. President Donald Trump firing FBI Director James Comey Tuesday, an odd storyline involving Rosie O’Donnell emerged Thursday. As you may know, Trump and O’Donnell have a long-standing feud, which came up numerous times during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump retweeted O’Donnell Thursday afternoon with a bit of a roast, pointing out that O’Donnell had called for Comey’s firing in December.

We finally agree on something Rosie. https://t.co/BSP5F3PgbZ

O’Donnell didn’t take the joke from her nemesis lightly, though; she responded to Trump harshly, calling him "a sadistic man."

@realDonaldTrump - u don't even realize the kind of trouble u r in - comeys people believe in him - for real - they have the proof - u r a sadistic man #USA

While the Comey controversy has raged on, so too has a White House controversy regarding a photo of Trump with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak being unexpectedly publicized Wednesday.

With these two controversies, as well as the myriad other problems in America, this Twitter exchange led to a number of people—including CNN’s Chris Cillizza—questioning: where are Trump’s priorities right now? Why is he taking the time to engage Rosie O’Donnell on Twitter?

Donald Trump just trolled Rosie O'Donnell and that's not good, writes @CillizzaCNN https://t.co/S9kD3PDZBT pic.twitter.com/CL2tXSFsQ9
What more can you say when your country's president has the time in his day to scroll through @Rosie 's timeline and tweet? #resist
@realDonaldTrump Donald Trump is tweeting Rosie O'Donnell instead of running our country. SAD!
With all that is going on ... Donald Trump has time to troll Rosie O'Donnell and quote tweet a tweet she posted last year 🤔
Donald Trump just trolled Rosie O'Donnell. Not good. @CNNPolitics https://t.co/fRsdXftAFd Glad to see that his focus & priorities are clear

O’Donnell has been actively tweeting and retweeting other users as this story has developed...

@GlobalRegina @realDonaldTrump but we don't - like every other sane human - i know he fired comey because he is scared of being caught - a desperate move by a dumb man

...but she hasn’t used the term “orange anus.” Yet.
