President Donald Trump addressed the alleged terrorist attack that took place outside of an Ariana Grande at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England on Monday night during a joint press conference with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday. Trump referred to the parties responsible for the attack as "evil losers" after sending his condolences to the families of those who were hurt and killed during the attack.
"I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack and to the many killed and the families, so many families, of the victims," Trump said. "We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom."
At least 22 people, including children, were reportedly killed in the attack. Manchester Police believe it was carried out by a lone suicide bomber, though that person has not been identified yet. Police are currently investigating whether or not the bomber had ties to a terrorist organization.
"So many young beautiful innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life," Trump said. "I won’t call them monsters because they would like that term. They would think that’s a great name. I will call them from now on losers because that’s what they are…They’re losers, and we’ll have more of them, but they’re losers, just remember that."
The White House reported that Trump spoke with British Prime Minister Theresa May and expressed his condolences to her in light of the attack. May also spoke publicly about the Manchester attack on Tuesday. She referred to it as "appalling" and "sickening."
May also said the UK terrorist threat level remains high.
