2Pec, an Australian rapper, has been accused of skipping out on a hefty lobster dinner bill by leaping into the ocean and attempting to swim away. 2Pec (Terry Peck) was granted bail Sunday after the alleged seafood debacle, the Gold Coast Bulletinreported. According to Peck, the food at Omeros Bros Seafood Restaurant at Main Beach was disappointing.
"There was oyster shell in the oyster and he (a staff member) said he was going to take care of the bill," Peck told reporters after being granted bail. "They should be apologizing to me for the shell in the overpriced food." Peck reportedly "chowed down" on a couple lobsters, 17 oyster shots, a baby octopus, and "a number of" Coronas. By Peck's assessment, his meal—valued at more than $600—was "overcooked."
Peck, who was apprehended by cops via jet ski after the meal, said his friend was about to have a baby on the beach at the time. "I couldn't find her and I was going to pay the bill if I found my wallet, but I lost everything," he told the Bulletin before revealing he had challenged Eminem to a rap battle. Thus far, Eminem has not agreed to "come down to Australia to have a go," Peck said.
The Omeros Bros restaurant has vehemently disputed Peck's "overcooked" claims. "It wouldn't have been overcooked," manager Robert Rank toldNews.com.au. "I'm pretty confident of that." Peck's next court appearance is scheduled for May 4. He is also barred from eating at Omeros Bros.
The last time we heard an inspiring story from Australia, we were treated to the romantic tale of the guy who was attacked by a crocodile while trying to impress a young woman. According to the guy, jumping into the croc-housing Johnstone River at Innisfail was worth it. In the ultimate plot twist, the woman agreed to go on a date with him.
