Cookie Monster may think “C” is for cookie, but as it turns out, “C” is also for crime. A New York City Cookie Monster was stabbed Saturday, reported the New York Post. Cookie Monster was caught in the crossfire of a fight between two other costumed characters, a sight not unusual for Times Square, which has seen Winnie the Pooh stab a person and your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man get into a fight.

The Cookie Monster, IRL 24-year-old Christopher Ramos, was stabbed in the back when trying to break up a fight between a person dressed as a Tuskegee airman and someone dressed as a Native American. The NYP reported sources saying the fight happened on West 50th Street. Ramos said the airman claimed he was “offended” by the person’s Native American costume. Also according to Ramos’ account to police, the airman took a knife out of his boot and stabbed Ramos in the head with it.

After the fight, Ramos was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening lacerated spleen, according to a source. Police said the airman and man in the Native American costume haven’t been found, but added that police are still investigating the attack.

Earlier this year new rules were implemented by NYC to control the costumed characters.
