A Georgia woman pleaded guilty on Thursday to an inappropriate sexual relationship with her 15-year-old daughter's boyfriend, according to the Daily Mail. The woman, 48-year-old Kathy Tompa, was charged in May with statutory rape, child molestation, and enticing a child for indecent purposes. She has been sentenced to 15 years in jail.

Tompa admitted that the relationship had lasted nearly six months.

"She stole my son's innocence," the boy's mother reportedly said in court. "She stole his childhood. I'm angry with her and I'm angry with myself."

Their relationship allegedly began in December of 2015, when Tompa invited him to her home while her husband was out of town on business. The Daily Mail also reports that the boy's parents noticed that his grades were slipping, and that his mood had changed. Tompa allegedly bought him a separate cell phone so that the two could stay in touch without his parents noticing.

“My client has a family and they are devastated by these allegations and plan to pursue this in court,” A.J. Richman, Tompa’s lawyer, told Georgia's Channel 2 Action News back in May when Tompa was initially charged. “She’s disappointed. But she’s keeping her head and she knows that justice will prevail.”

Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Tompa immediately turned herself in to police in May, walking hand in hand with her husband. She reportedly did not have a criminal history.

Tompa will have to pay for the boy's therapy along with a fine, per the Daily Mail, and will also register as a sex offender.
