While Donald Trump's campaign has taken a beating this election, his Walk of Fame star in Hollywood has gotten it even worse. Back in January, the star was tagged with a reverse swastika, then in July somebody built a wall around the star. Now, there's not much left of the star to vandalize, because this morning it took a sledgehammer and an axe to the face.

According to Deadline, Jamie Otis was dressed like a city construction worker when he arrived at Hollywood Boulevard around 5:45 a.m. today. Originally, Otis' plan was to jack the star and then auction it off to raise money for the many women who have accused Trump of sexually assaulting them. But when actually removing the star didn't work out, Otis took a sledgehammer and an axe to it, leaving the star's inscription unidentifiable.

While a few people did see Otis, the vandalism occurred just before dawn. There weren't any police present, and only a handful of pedestrians passed by.

Deadline even has an exclusive video of the destruction, which only took a few minutes.

Fox News reports that Trump got his star in 2007—and it's likely here to stay (or, at least, what's left of it). When it was tagged back in April, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce explained that the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. "Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame," the group's president Leron Gubler explained. "Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk."

As you might expect, a lot of Trump supporters aren't too amused by the stunt. They called out the "tolerant left" for supporting criminal activities.

It's unclear at this point whether Trump's star will be restored. Perhaps his star, like his campaign, will be left in shambles.
