North Carolina Firebombing

The North Carolina headquarters for the GOP was fire-bombed over the weekend, and now Democrats have raised more than $13,000 to assist with the reopening of the building. The Charlotte Observer reported on Sunday that there were no injuries in the bombing.

According to the Charlotte Observer, local police determined that someone bombed the building with a Molotov cocktail, resulting in major damage to the building. The prhase "Nazi Republicans get out of town or else" was painted on the building along with a swastika. Now some Democrats, eager to assist their opposition in North Carolina, have started a GoFundMe page for the Republican headquarters.

Part of the description on the page read, "As Democrats, we are starting this campaign to enable the Orange County, North Carolina Republican office to re-open as soon as possible," and it has raised $3,000 over the goal of $10,000 since Sunday.

But some on the left are critical of the GoFundMe initiative and have expressed their concerns and objections on Twitter:

Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have condemned the bombing of the headquarters (Trump blamed "animals representing Cinton"), but neither have publicly commented on the GoFundMe.
