Charlaina Lee Wilson is married, 33 years-old, a mother, and a teacher at Selma High School in Alabama. Oh, and she was also recently arrested by Selma police and charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy, transmitting obscene material to a child by computer, and distributing material harmful to minors, according to Al.com.
It all fell apart for Wilson after she sent a solo sex tape to an underage student, which was subsequently shared on social media and seen by thousands.
After hearing about the video, school officials and police started investigating,and concluded that Wilson and the student, who's now 15 but was 14 when the relationship began, had sex on multiple occasions and at multiple locations. Until the video spread, neither officials nor police were aware of the alleged relationship.
The Dallas County (Alabama) District Attorney told WALB: "She could possibly face a lot of time in prison on this. This is a complete violation of the public’s trust. Parents send their children to school to learn, not to have adults prey on them."
The DA also told reporters that "unfortunately, this is not a rare occurrence going on now," with WALB noting that there have been two other similar cases in the area in recent years.
Similarly, the Selma Police Chief said: "Every couple of weeks, you see where a teacher is involved with a student somewhere in the state or even across the southeast. They’re there for one purpose and one purpose only. It’s getting out of hand in some places."
Wilson's bond is currently set at $1,006,000.
