Police Prank Drivers by Pulling Them Over, Surprising Them With Ice Cream in Viral Video

This viral video shows police officers pranking drivers by pulling them over and suprising them with ice cream.

Police in Virginia pranked drivers by pulling them over, only to give them ice cream instead of a ticket. Now a video of one of the encounters has gone viral with over five million views on Facebook.

Unsuspecting drivers, like the woman in the video above, were stopped by Halifax police on Friday for violating "vehicle code 1739," as Officer Brian Warner is heard saying. In the video, Warner asks the visibly nervous woman if she knew why she was being pulled over, to which she said no. Warner revealed her infraction: "driving on a hot day without an ice cream cone." The woman and her passenger immediately burst into laughter and relief after the reveal. The passenger even shouted "Hell yeah!" once Warner started handing them the free ice cream and introduced himself and Chief of Police Kevin Lands, who was recording.

WSET reported the duo, armed with a cooler of ice cream, stopped about 20 drivers in total. Sergeant Stuart Come told WSET he "loves" the community and added, "I love our citizens and we appreciate the support that they give us on a daily basis...not just for times like this, but for everyday."

"Her reaction was absolutely the best," Warner, one of five officers total in the Halifax Police Department, toldWSET about the woman in the video. "It was genuine, and she had us smiling and laughing for a good hour afterwards, and I've probably watched the video myself 50 times just laughing. That's one of the great things with police work you get to meet people like that on a daily basis, and it makes the job worth it."
