A Pennsylvania man has reportedly been charged with abuse of a corpse after allegedly using a stolen human brain nicknamed "Freddy" to get high. Joshua Long was charged for the brain-related offense by Pennsylvania State Police last week, FOX 43reports. The brain was discovered inside a Walmart shopping bag beneath a residence, at which point the organ was turned over to authorities.

"At this point, now we're just trying to figure out where it came from," Trooper Robert Hicks told reporters Thursday, revealing the brain was believed to be a teaching specimen. "We're hoping that if anyone is missing a human specimen brain to bring it to our attention and maybe we can return it to its rightful owner." Long, 26, reportedly frequented the Penn Township area residence of Robby Zoller and Angela Micklo, who are currently "on the run" and wanted by local authorities.

Long's aunt was the person lucky enough to stumble upon the stolen brain while cleaning the vacant residence, at which point Silver Spring Township cops were contacted before handing the brain-centered investigation over to state police. Long was already in custody at Cumberland County Prison on multiple burglary charges. At the time of publication, Long was still listed as a current inmate. Pennsylvania State Police did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment, though an affidavit cited by the Sentinel shows that Long "confirmed" the brain part of this story to police.

As for the "why" of all this, authorities claim Long and Zoller would soak weed in the brain's formaldehyde (FYI: terrible idea) before promptly smoking it, a unique style of consumption that's believed to cause hallucinations and, presumably, a bunch of bad (re: not fun) shit. Did we mention the brain had been nicknamed Freddy? We did? Okay.
