A blistering showdown centered solely on crafting creative messages with Post-it notes has come to its inevitable conclusion: a big ass mic drop. Havas Worldwide delivered its final message Tuesday, a victory bow if there ever was one, after spending hours putting the massive Post-it visual together.

The showdown was prompted with the harmless greeting "HI" roughly two weeks ago, AdWeekreported. That seemingly inconsequential message quickly spawned a full-on war, with Canal Street in New York eventually becoming a great place to see Post-it versions of everyone from Marge and Maggie Simpson to Spider-Man.

"What made Canal Notes special was that it was completely analog," Havas Village president Laura Maness told AdWeek. "It brought us back to simple communications even in today's overly digital world. Given that, we wanted to bring it back to where it started—with a simple Post-it message and design."

The battle ultimately included Havas Worldwide, Cake Group, Getty Images, Horizon Media, and others. From a simple greeting, a full-fledged territorial brawl started to take shape. A pair of hashtags quickly followed, #postitwar and #canalnotes, making reliving the experience pretty damn easy for any latecomers:

"What started as a simple greeting exchange has blossomed into a global phenomenon," Maness said. "It has not only brought together our employees across the Havas Village to create a gallery of art, but it has been a channel to showcase our collaborative spirit and unmatched creativity.  We all take pride in the energy and imagination fueling it We all take pride in the energy and imagination fueling it."

Breaking news- a pretty serious Post It War is raging in downtown NYC @HavasMediaUSA @HorizonMediaInc #canalnotes pic.twitter.com/xz9GgE1u7N

Although Havas rightfully claimed victory with that massive mic drop, others have argued that the real champ here is, in fact, the Post-it brand. The two hashtags have been used a combined total of over 10,000 times between May 11 and May 24, according toDigiDay. That's the real-world equivalent of a $2 million brand recognition boost, meaning the chances of another Post-it war randomly breaking out soon likely isn't entirely out of the question.

How's your office looking? Boring, bland, and otherwise intolerable? Start plastering the windows with Post-it art and see what happens. You just might start a war.
