Hi-Tech Japanese Gang Steals £9 Million from Tokyo Cash Machines in Just Two Hours

INTERPOL are now on their case.

Real life Ocean’s 11 sh*t doesn’t happen with cool guys in sharp suits. Real mega-heists are all done with advanced, but very subtle technology. For example: a gang of Japanese hackers, who are still on the run, have made an absolute killing using card skimmers on ATM machines in Tokyo. They managed to steal $12.7 million (£8.6 million) from cloned cards in just two hours.

Ok, that’s really crappy for the people who have been robbed, but at the same time, it’s hard not to be impressed. Authorities think that the gang is around 100 people strong, and used devices on 14,000 cash machines to clone 1,600 credit and debit cards. The Japanese police are now working with INTERPOL to try and capture the thieves.
