Porn site xHamster is launching the most NSFW reality series ever entitled The Sex Factor.Mirroring its television name equivalent, The X Factor, the 10-episode series follows 16 wannabe porn stars (eight guys and eight girls) battling it out for a million dollars and porn superstardom. The series contestants were found through an open casting call and are judged by a panel made up of five of the biggest adult film stars: Asa Akira, Tori Black, Remy LaCroix, Lexi Belle, and Keiran Lee.
The 16 hopefuls have never been filmed and are being coached, mentored, and judged throughout the series. The series cleverly mimics network talent shows by including rounds of judging, weekly contestant elimination, petty one-on-ones with the camera, and increasingly explicit challenges, such as competitive blow-jobs and orgasm faking.
The show’s creator Buddy Ruben claims the show is not just a 10-episode porno—it also showcases the contestants’ personalities. “We’re looking for marketable, compelling personalities and want to tell the stories of their failures and follies,” Ruben told The Huffington Post.
Surprisingly, The Sex Factor is not the first porn reality show. Brazzers, which streamed in 2015, features two teams of women competing for porn stardom.
Plans for season two of Sex Factor are already underway. An open casting call has been set for the AVN Awards in Las Vegas, January 18-21, 2017.
