Jared Fogle, former Subway spokesperson, was allegedly assaulted by a fellow prisoner at a "low security facility" in Colorado. Fogle was reportedly jumped in the facility’s recreation yard without putting up much of a fight, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The assault, allegedly instigated by an inmate named Steven Nigg, left Fogle with a swollen face and a bloody nose.

Fogle is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence in Englewood stemming from child pornography charges brought against him last November, in addition to paying out more than $1 million dollars in restitution to victims. Following an investigation, Fogle ultimately agreed to plead guilty to possession of child pornography and traveling to pay for sexual intercourse with minors.

Russell Taylor, the former director of Fogle’s anti-childhood obesity charity, was arrested in April 2015 on three counts of possession of child pornography, three counts of child exploitation, and three counts of voyeurism. Subway, of course, promptly severed all ties with Fogle and related entities following their revelation of Fogle’s involvement in similarly disturbing activities.

Speaking with the family of Nigg, the man who reportedly assaulted Fogle inside prison back in January, TMZ learned that Nigg is apparently "pissed" about the high number of sexual predators currently housed in the Englewood prison. The presence of Fogle, Nigg’s family says, was simply the breaking point. Nigg was moved to solitary confinement after the incident.
