Though Bernie Sanders has made his progressive thoughts on the continuation of weed legalization a vocal aspect of his campaign, his rival Hillary Clinton has seemingly taken a more conservative approach. Or has she? The recent Broad City guest star stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to break down her thoughts on the good green stuff, revealing she's not quite as progressive on the issue as Bernie but she's still down with the revolution.
"I think what the states are doing right now needs to be supported," Hillary told Jimmy Kimmel. "But I want to see what the states learn from that experience because there are still a lot of questions that we have to answer at the federal level." According to Hillary, the best move right now is to remove weed from the list of Schedule I substances (duh) so research on its benefits can really start becoming a frequent occurrence. "There's great, great anecdotal evidence," Hillary said on Thursday. "But I want us to start doing the research."
Since weed is still classified as a Schedule I substance, that means the federal government considers weed equatable with obviously incomparable stuff like heroin. Baffling? Indeed. Though Hillary Clinton may not be as out here with the weed co-sign as Bernie Sanders, at least we can all agree that a rescheduling is in order. Let's toke to that.
